Try out your first Message Broadcast by sending a test message to yourself. You can either let the agent handle it or build the broadcast yourself.
Let the agent handle it
The easiest approach is to ask the Marketing Agent to do it for you.
When you tell the agent "Create a test broadcast," it prepares the broadcast text for you. Review the content and choose "Approve" to send it. Below, we also walk through how to build a broadcast yourself.
Create a broadcast
If you want to build it yourself, you create it from the Message Broadcast screen.
- Open "Message Broadcast" in the navigation menu.
- Choose "Create Broadcast".
- Enter a broadcast name (for example, "My First Test Broadcast").
- Select the LINE Official Account to broadcast from.
- Choose "Text" for the message and enter your broadcast text (for example, "Hello! This is a test broadcast from Lumo").
Check it with a test send
Before the real broadcast, you can send a test to yourself to confirm the content.
- Once you have entered everything, choose "Confirm Broadcast".
- Run the test send from the confirmation screen.
- Confirm that the message arrives in your own LINE app.
You can run the test send as many times as you like. If you want to make changes, go back to the previous screen and edit.
Send the real broadcast
Once you have confirmed the content, set the recipients and broadcast time, then send.
- Choose the recipients (we recommend "All Friends" to start).
- Choose the broadcast time. Send right away with "Send Now", or schedule it with "Send at a Specified Date and Time".
- Confirm the content and send the broadcast.
Check the broadcast results
After the broadcast finishes, you can review the results.
Open a sent broadcast from "Message Broadcast" to see the number of broadcasts, delivery rate, open rate, and click rate. You can also let the agent analyze the results and plan your next improvements.
How this relates to the setup guide
The setup guide on the Dashboard includes a step called "Send your first Message Broadcast." When you send a broadcast using the steps in this article, that step is automatically marked complete.
When things do not work
Here are common stumbling points with broadcasts and how to resolve them.
- The LINE Official Account cannot be selected: Check that the LINE Official Account connection is complete.
- The test send does not arrive: Check that you are a friend of that LINE Official Account.
- No friends appear in the recipients: Check that friends have been added to the LINE Official Account.
