Once you connect your LINE Official Account to Lumo, you can run broadcasts and manage friends. The connection follows a six-step wizard and takes about 20 minutes to complete.
What to prepare before connecting
To connect, you need a Lumo account and a LINE Official Account that you are able to configure.
- You are logged in to Lumo
- You have a LINE Official Account (you can connect even on the free plan)
- You can access LINE Official Account Manager and LINE Developers
Starting the connection
You start the connection from the account list screen.
- Connecting for the first time: In the guidance shown after you log in, "Let's connect your LINE Official Account", select "Connect a LINE Official Account".
- Connecting an additional account: Open "Accounts" in the navigation menu and select "Connect LINE Official Account".
Review the contents of the pre-check screen, then select "Start LINE Official Account connection" to begin the wizard. Steps 3 to 6 each have a "View Manual" link that opens this article.
Connecting from the chat
You can also make the connection from the Marketing Agent's chat, through the same six stages as the wizard.
Cards in the chat walk you through entering the channel ID and channel secret, verifying the webhook, adding the account from your own LINE, sending yourself a test message, setting up the greeting message, and connecting your shop or CRM (optional). The wizard and the chat lead to the same result, so pick whichever suits you.
Step 1: Set the account name
Set the account name displayed in Lumo, along with the country/region. Using the same name as your LINE Official Account makes it easier to manage.
Step 2: Set the channel information
From the Messaging API settings of your LINE Official Account, copy the channel ID and channel secret and enter them.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Channel ID | An ID made up of numbers only |
| Channel secret | An alphanumeric string of 16 or more characters |
You can find both in the LINE Developers console. If a value returns an error, check the correct value in the console. If you're not sure where to find them, use "Ask AI" to ask the Marketing Agent.
Step 3: Set the Webhook URL
Copy the Webhook URL shown on the screen using "Copy URL", then paste it into the Webhook URL setting field of your LINE Official Account.
Step 4: Enable the Webhook
Turn the webhook on under Response settings in LINE Official Account Manager.
Once it's on, click "Verify" to check what LINE has registered. If you see "The webhook reached Lumo. The LINE side is set.", the LINE side is done. If the webhook URL isn't registered, doesn't match Lumo's, is turned off, or LINE's test delivery fails, the result tells you which one and how to fix it, so fix it and verify again. Alongside the check, tick "Webhook has been enabled" to move on.
Step 5: Confirm you have added the account as a friend
To test the connection, add the target LINE Official Account as a friend in your own LINE app.
- If you have already added it as a friend: Block it once and then unblock it to reset the connection check.
- If you haven't added it as a friend yet: Add the LINE Official Account you plan to use with Lumo as a friend.
Step 6: Connection complete
When the connection complete screen appears, your setup is finished.
The screen shows "View Manual" and "View Friends List". Use "View Friends List" to continue with "Verifying the connection" below. After connecting, just tell the Marketing Agent "I want to create a broadcast" and it will prepare the broadcast for you.
Verifying the connection
You can confirm the connection by adding the LINE Official Account as a friend and checking that your own profile appears in Lumo's Friends list.
- In the LINE app, add the connected LINE Official Account as a friend (scan the QR code or search by ID)
- In the wizard's step 5, "LINE Friend Confirmation", click "Check friend request". The number of detected friend adds is shown
- On the connection complete screen, click "View Friends List" to open the Friends list for that account
- If your own profile appears in the Friends list, the connection is complete
To check later, select the target LINE Official Account in the side menu and click "Friends" to open the Friends list. It can take a few minutes to show up, so if it doesn't appear, wait a while and then reload the page.
Disconnecting and restoring
You disconnect from "Disconnect LINE Official Account" on the LINE Official Account settings screen (workspace administrators only). To prevent mistakes, you review the list of effects, type the Lumo ID, and confirm in the dialog.
- An account on a paid plan can't be disconnected. Cancel the plan from Subscription first, return to the Free plan, then disconnect.
- For 7 days after disconnecting, "Restore" at the bottom of the LINE Official Accounts list brings the account back to how it was. After 7 days, external integration settings and their synced data are permanently deleted.
- Reconnecting the same LINE Official Account doesn't carry over the friends, tags, or delivery history from before. To get them back, use "Restore" rather than reconnecting.
When things don't work
Here are common sticking points during connection and how to address them.
- The connect button doesn't appear: Check whether you have administrator permissions for the Workspace.
- The channel ID or channel secret returns an error: Check that you copied the correct value from the LINE Developers console. The channel ID is numbers only, and the channel secret is 16 or more characters.
- "LINE rejected the channel verification" appears: Check that you entered the Messaging API channel's channel ID and channel secret. Values from a LINE Login channel cause this error.
- No friends appear after connecting: Right after connecting, syncing can take some time. Wait a while and then reload the page.
- A Webhook error appears: Check that the Webhook URL is set correctly in the LINE Developers console and that the Webhook is enabled.
