Broadcast templates let you save frequently used broadcast content as a reusable layout so you can apply it the next time you create a broadcast.
What Is a Broadcast Template?
A broadcast template is a feature that lets you save the content of a Message Broadcast as a reusable layout. You no longer need to build the same message structure from scratch every time, which cuts down the effort of creating a broadcast.
It is especially effective for broadcasts with a fixed format, such as a weekly newsletter or a standard campaign message.
Letting the Agent Handle It
You can leave the creation and preparation of a broadcast to the Marketing Agent, and templates are an option for when you want to manage your own layouts yourself.
When you share a Goal, the agent proposes the broadcast content and prepares everything including the recipients and the message to send. All you do is review the proposal and choose "Approve" or "Cancel". Because the proposals take past broadcasts into account, you can move forward even with a standard broadcast without preparing a template manually.
If you want to fix and manage your own layouts, use broadcast templates with the steps below.
What You Need to Use This Feature
To use broadcast templates, you need to meet the following two conditions.
- You are logged in to Lumo
- A LINE Official Account is connected
Saving as a Template
You can save a Message Broadcast you have already created as a template just as it is.
- Open the editing screen of the broadcast you want to turn into a template
- From the "More actions" menu, select "Save as template"
- Enter a template name and save
You can find the saved template in the list of broadcast templates.
Creating a Broadcast from a Template
You can create a new Message Broadcast based on a saved template.
- Open "Message Broadcast" in the navigation menu
- From "Message items", select "Broadcast templates"
- Open the template you want to use
- Click "Create Broadcast"
- A new broadcast is created that carries over the content of the template
- Review and edit the content, then run the broadcast
What Is Carried Over from a Template
When you create a broadcast from a template, the message content is carried over. The broadcast timing and recipients are not carried over, so you set them for each broadcast.
| Item | Carried over from the template? |
|---|---|
| Message (text, image, video, etc.) | Carried over |
| Broadcast schedule | Not carried over (set per broadcast) |
| Recipient Segment | Not carried over (set per broadcast) |
| Sending LINE Official Account | Not carried over (set per broadcast) |
After you create a broadcast from a template, set the broadcast name, schedule, recipients, and sender again. You specify recipients with a Segment. A Segment is a set of conditions for narrowing down friends, which is a separate concept from the "tag" you attach to friends.
Managing Templates
In the list of broadcast templates, you can organize, edit, duplicate, and delete templates.
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Organize with folders | Create a Folder and manage templates together |
| Edit | Change the content of a template |
| Duplicate | Copy a template to create another template |
| Delete | Delete a template you no longer need |
Common Use Patterns
Broadcast templates are helpful when you send broadcasts repeatedly or want to reuse a structure that produced good results.
- Streamlining regular broadcasts: Turn broadcasts with a fixed structure, such as a weekly newsletter, into a layout to shorten creation time
- Scaling campaigns: Templatize the structure of a campaign that produced good results and reuse it for another campaign
- Consistency within the team: Prepare shared templates so that broadcasts go out in the same format even when different people handle them
When Things Don't Work
Common stumbling points with broadcast templates and how to resolve them are listed below.
- You can't find the template: Check that you are opening "Message Broadcast" > "Message items" > "Broadcast templates" in that order
- You can't create a broadcast from a template: Check that the template content is not empty and that the message is saved correctly
- The recipients or sender are empty: These are not carried over from the template. Set them again for each broadcast
- The template content is outdated: Edit the template and update it to the latest content
