Connect an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT to Lumo, and you can check your LINE Official Account, review broadcast results and draft broadcasts right in the conversation. The AI app reads and drafts; sending a broadcast is done by a person in Lumo. This article covers what the AI app can do, how to connect, and the first requests to try.
This feature is in beta. Details may change without notice.
What an AI app can do
The AI app answers from the data of the Workspace you connected, and it can save a broadcast draft. It never sends a message.
| What it can do | Example |
|---|---|
| View your account overview | Workspace name, friend count per LINE Official Account, messages sent this month, connected services, setup progress |
| View broadcast results | Broadcasts in a date range with sent, delivered, opened and clicked counts |
| View a broadcast's content | The messages of one broadcast, its audience and the results of each delivery |
| View the friend trend | Friend count per day and its change, up to 92 days |
| Look up a friend | Which HubSpot contact, Shopify customer or Klaviyo profile a LINE friend is linked to, and how they became a friend |
| List audiences | The Segments you can address, plus the Klaviyo segments and lists synced to Lumo |
| Create a broadcast draft | A draft with a text message and an audience. It doesn't send or schedule anything |
What the AI app can't do:
- Send a message or schedule a broadcast
- Read 1:1 chat history
- See friends' email addresses or phone numbers
What you need to use this feature
Only a Workspace administrator can allow the connection. Any plan works.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Role | Workspace administrator (the same members who can issue an API key) |
| Plan | Available on every plan |
| Workspace | Not available in a Workspace with IP restriction enabled (the AI app reaches Lumo from the AI app's own servers) |
| AI app | An app that can connect to a remote MCP server with OAuth, such as Claude or ChatGPT |
During the beta, we're opening the feature to Workspaces in stages. If the permission screen shows "Not available in this workspace yet" next to your Workspace, contact support.
Connecting from Claude
In Claude, add Lumo as a custom connector. A connector you add works on claude.ai in the browser, in the desktop app and in the mobile apps.
Server URL:
https://mcp.lumo.cx/mcp
- Open Connectors in Claude's settings and choose Add custom connector
- Enter "Lumo" as the name and
https://mcp.lumo.cx/mcpas the URL, then continue - Choose Sign in now. You can leave the OAuth client settings empty
- Lumo's login page opens. Log in with an administrator account
- On the "Connect to Lumo" screen, review what the app can do, pick the Workspace to connect and click "Allow"
- You're taken back to Claude, and the connection is ready
To connect from Claude Code, run this in your terminal and sign in with /mcp:
claude mcp add --transport http lumo https://mcp.lumo.cx/mcp
On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner adds the connector in the organization settings first. Each member then connects it to their own Workspace.
Connecting from ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode and then add Lumo as a connector. Developer mode has to be available on your ChatGPT plan.
- Open Connectors in ChatGPT's settings, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode
- Create a connector: enter "Lumo" as the name,
https://mcp.lumo.cx/mcpas the MCP server URL and choose OAuth for authentication - When you create it, Lumo's login page opens. Log in with an administrator account
- On the "Connect to Lumo" screen, pick the Workspace to connect and click "Allow"
- In a chat, open Developer mode from the + button in the composer and select the Lumo connector
ChatGPT may ask you to confirm before it calls Lumo. Review the request and continue.
First requests to try
Once connected, start by asking for the account overview. The AI app then knows how your Workspace and LINE Official Accounts are set up and answers the following requests correctly.
Requests you can paste as they are:
- "Give me an overview of my LINE Official Account in Lumo: friend count, messages sent this month and the services connected"
- "List the broadcast results of the last 30 days. Which broadcasts had the most opens and clicks?"
- "Show me the segments and lists I can send a broadcast to"
- "Look at the friend trend of the last 3 months and tell me which weeks grew and which shrank"
- "Draft a broadcast to the segment ○○ announcing the new collection, about 200 characters, few emoji"
If the Workspace has several LINE Official Accounts, name the account in your request so the AI app doesn't have to ask.
From draft to sending
The AI app creates the draft; you review and send it in Lumo.
- Tell the AI app the message and the audience. Name a Segment, or a Klaviyo segment or list from the audience list. If the broadcast should go to every friend, say so explicitly
- The AI app saves the draft and returns a link that opens it in Lumo
- Open the link and check the message and the audience on the Broadcast screen. Finish it in Lumo: add images, buttons and so on
- Send it, or schedule it for a date and time
Give the AI app the real URL in your request so the draft doesn't end up with a placeholder like "[link]". Each request creates another draft, so if you ask again, delete the old draft in Lumo.
Data and security
The AI app receives only the data of the Workspace you allowed, within the scope shown on the permission screen: broadcast content and results, audiences, friend information and the account overview.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Shared | Broadcast messages and results, audiences, friend counts and trend, friends' display names and linked IDs, account overview |
| Not shared | Email addresses, phone numbers, 1:1 chat history, data of other Workspaces |
| Writes | Creating broadcast drafts only. No sending, scheduling or settings changes |
| Who can allow it | Workspace administrators |
How the AI app handles the data it receives follows that app's terms and settings. Whether your conversations are used to train the AI is managed in the AI app's settings.
To stop the connection, remove the Lumo connector in the AI app. That app can then no longer access Lumo's data.
Beta notes
While in beta, what the AI app can do and the shape of its answers may change without notice.
- One Workspace can make up to 60 calls per minute. Above that, the AI app is told to wait a moment
- The AI app's answers are its own wording of Lumo's data. When a number drives a decision, check it on the Lumo screen too
- Send your feedback and requests to support. They shape what comes next
When things don't work
Use this table when the connection or a request doesn't go as expected.
| Symptom | Cause and fix |
|---|---|
| You can't pick a Workspace on the permission screen | You aren't an administrator of that Workspace, it has IP restriction enabled, or it isn't in the beta yet. Ask an administrator, or contact support |
| "No workspace can allow this" appears | The account you logged in with isn't an administrator of any Workspace. Log in again with an administrator account |
| "This connection request has expired" appears | The permission screen was left open too long. Connect again from the AI app |
| The AI app says it has to wait a moment | The per-minute call limit was reached. Wait about a minute and ask again |
| A Klaviyo segment isn't in the audience list | It hasn't been synced to Lumo yet. A segment just created in Klaviyo appears after the next sync |
| No draft is created | The audience name wasn't found, or several Segments share the name. Ask for the audience list and give the exact name |
