Marketing Agent handles the preparation and analysis of your broadcasts — below are answers to common questions about specifications and manual operations.
Who prepares the broadcast for me?
Once you share your Goal, Marketing Agent prepares a broadcast plan that covers the target Segment, the message content, and the timing. All you have to do is review the plan and choose "Approve" or "Cancel" in the approval dialog.
If you prefer to configure the details yourself, you can also create a Message Broadcast manually from Create Broadcast on the broadcast list screen. Whether you consult the agent or create it manually is entirely up to you.
Can I cancel a broadcast that has already been sent?
A Message Broadcast that has already been sent cannot be canceled. Once a message is sent, it stays in your friends' chat screen.
For a scheduled broadcast, you can cancel it before the scheduled send date and time. Open the More Actions menu on the broadcast details screen and select Cancel Scheduled Broadcast. A canceled broadcast returns to draft status, so you can edit the content and schedule it again.
Why does the number of recipients differ from the number actually sent?
Blocked friends are excluded automatically, so the estimated number of recipients may not match the number of messages actually sent.
The estimated number of recipients shown when you create a broadcast is an approximation calculated at that moment. At the time of sending, the block status of each friend is rechecked, and blocked friends are excluded from the send. For this reason, the actual number sent can be lower than the estimate.
Can I send a test message?
Yes. Before the live broadcast, you can send a test message to specified friends to check the content.
After you create the broadcast content, open Broadcast Review, specify friends under Test Recipients, and select Send Test Message. We recommend checking in the actual chat screen that the display and merged content appear as intended before proceeding to the live broadcast.
Notes on test sending
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Recipient limit | You can specify up to 5 friends |
| Send count | Test sends also count toward the monthly message send count for both your LINE Official Account and Lumo |
Can I schedule when a broadcast is sent?
Yes. You can set up a scheduled broadcast for a specific date and time.
Under Delivery Time for the broadcast, select Send at a Specified Date and Time, then specify the delivery date and time. You can review scheduled broadcasts under Scheduled in the broadcast list. As long as the broadcast has not been sent, you can also cancel it or change the date and time.
If you want to send right away, select Send Now.
How do I specify the recipients?
You choose recipients from either All Friends or a Segment narrowed down by conditions.
By default, all friends are targeted. To narrow down to specific friends, clear the All Friends selection and specify a Segment. Note that what you specify here is the target Segment for the broadcast, which is a separate concept from the tags applied to friends. Tags can be used as filtering conditions for a Segment.
If you specify the same Segment as both a recipient and an exclusion, the exclusion takes priority.
Can I change the sender?
Yes. Under Message Sender for the broadcast, you can choose to send under your LINE Official Account name or under the name of a specific user in your Workspace.
By default, messages are sent under your LINE Official Account name. To send under a user's name, select Specify User and choose the user who will be the sender.
How many people are needed to use LINE Audience?
To use LINE Audience, you need at least 50 recipients.
If you have fewer than 50 recipients, narrowing down with LINE Audience or attribute filters is not available. In that case, please use a regular Segment broadcast. Note that for broadcasts using LINE Audience, the actual number sent is finalized on LINE's side.
Where can I check A/B Test results?
When you open an A/B Test broadcast in the broadcast list, you can compare the send count, delivery count, open rate, and click rate for each pattern side by side.
The results screen also shows the higher-performing pattern (the winning pattern). If it is a tie, that is indicated as well. Check which pattern led to results and use that insight when creating your next broadcast.
Can I change the broadcast settings for pattern B in an A/B Test?
For pattern B, you can edit only the name and the message content.
Settings such as recipients, delivery settings, and the sender follow the content of pattern A (the main pattern). If you want to change any of these, edit the settings on the pattern A side.
