Marketing Agent handles the preparation and analysis of your broadcasts — below are answers to common questions about specifications and manual operations.
Who prepares the broadcast for me?
Once you share your Goal, Marketing Agent prepares a broadcast plan that covers the target Segment, the message content, and the timing. All you have to do is review the plan and choose "Execute" or "Not now" in the approval dialog.
If you prefer to configure the details yourself, you can also create a Message Broadcast manually from "Create Broadcast" on the broadcast list screen. Whether you consult the agent or create it manually is entirely up to you.
Can I cancel a broadcast that has already been sent?
A Message Broadcast that has already been sent cannot be canceled. Once a message is sent, it stays in your friends' chat screen.
For a scheduled broadcast, you can cancel it before the scheduled send date and time. Open the "Other actions" menu on the broadcast details screen and select "Cancel scheduled delivery". A canceled broadcast returns to draft status, so you can edit the content and schedule it again.
Can I restore a deleted broadcast?
Deleted broadcasts cannot be restored. If you might use a broadcast again later, archive it instead of deleting it.
Select the broadcast in the list and click "Archive" to hide it from the list. You can still open an archived broadcast to check its content and results. You can bring it back anytime with "Restore from archive" in the "Archive" tab of the side menu. Archiving a scheduled broadcast cancels its schedule, and restoring doesn't resume it. Schedule it again after restoring if needed. Broadcasts that are currently sending can't be deleted or archived.
Why does the number of recipients differ from the number actually sent?
Blocked friends are excluded automatically, so the estimated number of recipients may not match the number of messages actually sent.
The estimated number of recipients shown when you create a broadcast is an approximation calculated at that moment. At the time of sending, the block status of each friend is rechecked, and blocked friends are excluded from the send. For this reason, the actual number sent can be lower than the estimate.
Can I send a test message?
Yes. Before the live broadcast, you can send a test message to registered test recipients to check the content.
After you create the broadcast content, open "Delivery Confirmation", select a registered member under "Test recipient", and select "Send test message". We recommend checking in the actual chat screen that the display and merged content appear as intended before proceeding to the live broadcast.
Notes on test sending
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Recipients | You can only send to registered test recipients, who are members. You can't pick a friend directly |
| Recipient limit | You can specify up to 5 recipients at a time |
| Registration scope | Test recipients are registered per LINE Official Account, and only members registered on the delivery source account appear in the list |
| Send count | Test sends also count toward the monthly message send count for both your LINE Official Account and Lumo |
For the requirements and steps, see Registering and using test recipients.
Can I schedule when a broadcast is sent?
Yes. You can set up a scheduled broadcast for a specific date and time.
Under "Delivery Time" in the broadcast's "Delivery Settings", select "Schedule for a specific date and time", then specify the delivery date and time. The confirmation button then reads "Schedule for {datetime}". You can review scheduled broadcasts under "Scheduled" in the broadcast list. As long as the broadcast has not been sent, you can also cancel it or change the date and time.
If you want to send right away, select "Deliver Now".
How do I specify the recipients?
You choose recipients from either "All friends" or a Segment narrowed down by conditions.
By default, all friends are targeted. To narrow down to specific friends, clear the "All friends" selection and specify a Segment. Note that what you specify here is the target Segment for the broadcast, which is a separate concept from the tags applied to friends. Tags can be used as filtering conditions for a Segment.
If you specify the same Segment as both a recipient and an exclusion, the exclusion takes priority.
Can I change the sender?
Yes. Under "Message Sender" for the broadcast, you can choose to send under your LINE Official Account name or under the name of a specific member in your Workspace.
By default, messages are sent under your LINE Official Account name. To send under a member's name, select "Specify a member" and choose the member who will be the sender.
How many people are needed to use LINE Audience?
Demographic conditions require a target reach of at least 100 and at least 50 recipients after filtering.
Below those numbers, narrowing down with attribute filters is not available, so use a regular Segment broadcast instead. You can select up to 9 audiences in one broadcast, and every audience and demographic condition you select is applied with AND. A broadcast can't be saved while it still holds a retired region or an audience that is no longer usable, so pick the conditions again when you see a save error. Note that for broadcasts using LINE Audience, the actual number sent is finalized on LINE's side.
What happens when my LINE Official Account reaches its monthly message limit?
If you run a broadcast after the limit has been reached, the broadcast doesn't start and its status changes to "Needs Review". Not a single message is sent.
If the limit is reached partway through a broadcast, the friends who didn't receive it are recorded in the recipient list as "Monthly message limit reached". Test sends fail for the same reason. You can check your usage and limit in LINE Official Account Manager. If you change your plan, the new limit applies from the next broadcast.
Where can I check A/B test results?
When you open an A/B Test broadcast in the broadcast list, you can compare the send count, delivery count, open rate, and click rate for each pattern side by side.
The better-performing pattern is shown as the "Winning pattern". If there is no difference, it is shown as "Tie". Check which pattern led to results and use that insight when creating your next broadcast.
Can I change the broadcast settings for Pattern B in an A/B test?
The only thing you can change in Pattern B is the message content.
The name, recipients, delivery settings, sender, and other settings are shared by both patterns. Set them once outside the "Pattern A" and "Pattern B" tabs in the message settings; changing them applies to both patterns.
