A Segment is a target group that decides "who to reach" by narrowing down friends with conditions. You can let the agent build one for you, or create one yourself manually.
The Difference Between Segments and Tags
A Segment is a target group, while a tag is a marker you attach to friends, so the two play different roles.

A Segment is built by combining various conditions, including Friend Tags.
Letting the Agent Decide the Target
You can leave the design of the target to the agent. The quickest way is to first tell it "who you want to reach."
When you tell the agent your goal or target audience in Auto mode or Consult mode, the agent suggests conditions and prepares the Segment that will serve as the target. For example, just by saying "I want to broadcast to customers who recently made a purchase," you can have it assemble the necessary filtering conditions.
What the agent prepares is applied when you select "Approve" in the approval dialog, and put on hold when you select "Cancel". You can also adjust the suggested conditions yourself afterward.

Requirements for Using This Feature
To create a Segment, you must be logged in to Lumo and have your accounts connected and integrated.
- You are logged in to Lumo
- Your LINE Official Account is connected
- If you use Shopify, HubSpot, or Klaviyo conditions, the relevant external service is integrated
Opening the Segment Screen
Segment creation starts from the "Segment" screen of the target LINE Official Account.
From the navigation menu, select the target LINE Official Account and click "Segment". The Segment list screen appears.
Creating a New Segment
Open the creation screen from the "Create Segment" button on the Segment list screen.
Entering the Segment Name
Enter a name for the Segment in the "Name" field. The name is a required field. Give it a name that makes the target instantly recognizable, so it is easy to select when broadcasting.
Setting Conditions
Segment conditions are added inside a "filter condition group." Each condition consists of three parts: "property," "condition," and "value."
Steps to Set a Condition
- Select a "property" — choose the item used for filtering (LINE friend-added date, tag, Shopify integration, number of purchases, Klaviyo integration, and so on)
- Select a "condition" — choose the comparison method (equals, greater than or equal to, contains any, integrated, and so on)
- Enter a "value" — enter the value to compare against. Depending on the combination of property and condition, an input field for a date, number, text, or selection appears
Examples of Available Properties
Conditions for external services appear only if that service is integrated.

Combining Multiple Conditions
Combining multiple conditions lets you narrow down more precisely. Conditions within the same group are joined with AND, while groups are joined with OR.
Conditions Within a Group (AND)
Conditions within the same condition group are joined with AND (all must match). To add more conditions, click the "Add Property (AND)" button inside the group.
Adding a Condition Group (OR)
Click the "Add Another Condition (OR)" button at the bottom of the screen to add a new condition group. Groups are joined with OR (any one matches).
Examples of Combinations
- Filter condition 1: Shopify integration is "Integrated" AND number of purchases is "5 or more"
- OR
- Filter condition 2: HubSpot integration is "Integrated" AND the lifecycle stage of a HubSpot property is "Customer"
In this case, friends who match either filter condition 1 or filter condition 2 become the target.
Checking the Target Audience in the Preview
The preview on the right side of the Segment editing screen lets you check the summary of the conditions and the friends that will be targeted.
- A summary of the current conditions and the count and list of matching friends are displayed
- The target friends are calculated after the Segment is saved and reflected in the preview
- The preview shows up to 10 friends
After changing conditions, save and use the preview to verify that the count is what you expected.
Saving the Segment
Save with the "Save Segment" button at the top right of the screen, or the "Save" button on the save bar at the bottom of the screen.
A saved Segment can be used as the target of a Message Broadcast. For how to specify the target, refer to the article on creating a Message Broadcast.
Organizing Segments with Folders
As your Segments grow, you can create folders to organize them.
- Click the "Create Folder" button on the Segment list screen
- Enter a folder name and save
You can move Segments from the list into the folder you created.
Creating a Message Broadcast from a Segment
From the Segment list, you can immediately create a Message Broadcast that targets that Segment.
Click the "Create Broadcast" button in a Segment's row, and the Message Broadcast creation screen opens in a new window with that Segment already set as the target.
When Things Do Not Work
Common stumbling points in Segment creation and how to handle them are listed below.
