You can try the features of a paid plan with a 14-day free trial. This article covers how to start, what you see during the trial, what happens when it ends, and how to switch to a paid plan.
What you can try
During the trial, you can use the features of the plan you chose for 14 days as they are. No credit card is required.
- Start from "Try free for 14 days" in the contract information under "Settings" > "Usage & Billing" to try the Business plan features
- You can also start a trial on the spot from the dialog that appears when you open a feature that needs a higher plan
Trials start per LINE Official Account. Because the Free plan is free with no time limit, you can also start on Free to get a feel for the product and begin a trial only when you need a specific feature.
What you see during the trial
During the trial, the banner at the top of the screen shows the days remaining.
- "On trial" appears on the account list and the plan screen
- The contract information screen tells you when the trial ends
- Administrators receive notifications 7 days and 1 day before the trial ends. If you haven't registered a payment method, the notification says that the account will move to the Free plan after the trial
What happens when the trial ends
When the trial period ends, that LINE Official Account moves to the Free plan. The data and settings you created aren't deleted.
| Item | After the trial ends |
|---|---|
| Data such as friends, Segments, broadcasts, and Workflows | Stays as it is |
| Message count | Becomes the Free plan's free allowance (200 messages/month). You can't send beyond the free allowance |
| Features on the Starter plan and above (Smart Rich Menu, Custom QR Code, AI Knowledge Base, Shopify and Klaviyo integrations) | Become unavailable. The settings remain, and you can use them again once you sign up for a paid plan |
| Features on the Business plan and above (Analytics Reports, Dashboard customization, HubSpot integration) | Become unavailable. The settings remain, and you can use them again once you sign up for a paid plan |
| LINE Official Accounts you can connect | Up to 1 on the Free plan |
If you registered a payment method during the trial, billing for that plan starts after the trial ends. The notification sent before the end tells you the date billing starts.
Switching to a paid plan
Whether during or after the trial, you can sign up from "Settings" > "Usage & Billing" > "View/Change Plan".
- Choose a plan under "View/Change Plan"
- Choose the billing cycle (monthly or annual)
- Set up your payment method and company information
- Review the details and click "Confirm changes"
The monthly fee is paid in advance at the beginning of each month, with no proration. Even if you sign up partway through the month, you pay a full month for that month. The settings and data you created during the trial carry over to the paid plan as they are.
Trial restrictions
The trial has the following restrictions.
- You can't try the same plan again, or any plan below one you have already tried. Moving up is fine — for example, you can try the Business plan after trying the Starter plan
- During the trial, you can't change the "Country / Region" of the LINE Official Account. If you need to change it, contact support
- As a rule, we don't extend trial periods. To keep using the features, sign up for a paid plan
Do I need a credit card for the trial?
No. If you don't register a payment method, the account moves to the Free plan automatically after the trial, and no charges apply.
Is my data deleted after the trial?
No. Data and settings such as friends, broadcasts, and Workflows remain as they are. On the Free plan, 1:1 Chat message history is kept for one year.
