Auto Send Messages let the Marketing Agent handle design and delivery automatically — so you can focus on your goal. When you run into trouble, start by consulting the agent, and refer to the steps in each item when you want to check things yourself.
What is the difference between Auto Send Messages and Workflows?
Auto Send Messages and Workflows play different roles: Auto Send Messages handle "what to send," while Workflows handle "when and to whom to send."
Auto Send Messages is a feature for creating and managing the content of messages that are delivered automatically. Workflows, on the other hand, is a feature that automatically runs multiple actions in response to a trigger such as a friend add or a received message.
From a Workflow's Auto Send Messages action, you call an Auto Send Message that you have already created. By combining these two, you can build a flow where "when a specific trigger occurs, this content is sent automatically."
When you cannot decide what to send for which trigger, share your Goal and consult the agent, and it will suggest a combination of Auto Send Messages and Workflows.
My Auto Send Message is not being sent
When an auto message does not arrive, check three things in order: the status, the caller, and the content.
| Check point | Details |
|---|---|
| Status | Check that the status in the list is set to In use. If it is set to Stopped, it will not be delivered |
| Caller | Check that the settings of the feature calling the auto message — such as a Workflow, an auto-reply message, or a QR Code — are correct |
| Message content | Check that the message to be delivered has been created correctly and saved |
If it still is not delivered, consult the agent about the situation and it will help you isolate the cause.
Where can I call Auto Send Messages from?
Auto Send Messages can be called and delivered from three features: Workflows, auto-reply messages, and QR Codes.
| Caller | When it is delivered |
|---|---|
| Workflow | When a configured trigger (such as a friend add or a received message) occurs |
| Auto-reply message | When responding automatically to a message from a customer |
| QR Code | When a customer scans the QR Code and adds you as a friend |
A single Auto Send Message can be shared and called from several of these features.
Is there a limit on how many times an Auto Send Message can be sent?
There is no send-count limit on Auto Send Messages themselves. However, they are affected by LINE's monthly message volume cap.
Deliveries made through Auto Send Messages also count toward your LINE Official Account's monthly message volume. If your send volume is high, check the plan and remaining message count of the connected LINE Official Account.
Can I use the same Auto Send Message in multiple Workflows?
Yes. You can share a single Auto Send Message across multiple Workflows, auto-reply messages, and QR Codes.
When you change the message content, the change is reflected in every feature that calls that Auto Send Message. When editing a message used in several places, keep its scope of impact in mind.
When you want to check the scope of an edit
On the detail screen of an Auto Send Message, Workflows in use shows a list of the Workflows and auto-reply messages that call that Auto Send Message. Reviewing this before you edit lets you understand where the change will be reflected.
Is it safe to edit an Auto Send Message that is running?
You can edit it even while it is running. There is no effect on delivery until you save, and the new content is reflected from the first delivery after you save.
When you try to edit a running Auto Send Message, a confirmation message appears. Once you save, the change is reflected in subsequent deliveries, and messages that have already been delivered do not change. You can review the content with peace of mind.
Can I narrow down recipients by the tags applied to friends?
Auto Send Messages are delivered according to the settings of the calling Workflow or auto-reply message. Recipient narrowing is designed on the caller's side, not within the Auto Send Message itself.
The tag referred to here means the "Friend Tag," an attribute applied to friends. This is a separate concept from "Segments," which group recipients by conditions, so be careful not to confuse them. When you want to narrow down recipients by conditions, combine Segment or tag conditions on the Workflow side.
For a condition like "send automatically only to friends with this tag," share your Goal and the agent will suggest the necessary Workflows and Segments to include.
