Auto Send Messages let you prepare reusable message templates that Workflows, QR Codes, and other features can call and send automatically.
What Are Auto Send Messages?
Auto Send Messages let you prepare messages in advance so they can be called and sent from features such as Workflows or QR Codes.
Once you create a message, you can reuse it across many situations. For example, you can automatically deliver a greeting when someone adds you as a friend, or send guidance to people who scan a QR Code. There is no need to rebuild the message every time you send it. After sending, you can also check the delivery count, open rate, and click rate for each template.
You can ask the Marketing Agent to "prepare a message to send to people who add us as a friend," and let it handle even the draft of the content. If you prefer to build it yourself, see the article on how to create Auto Send Messages.
How They Differ from a Message Broadcast
Auto Send Messages and a Message Broadcast serve different purposes: the former prepares "messages that are called and sent from other features," while the latter sends messages immediately to a Segment or all of your friends at once.
| Item | Auto Send Messages | Message Broadcast |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Prepare messages to call and send | Send to a Segment or all friends at once |
| How it sends | Called and sent from features such as Workflows or QR Codes | Sent directly from the Message Broadcast screen |
| Reuse | Can be reused across many situations | Created for each individual broadcast |
| Statistics | Check delivery count, open rate, and click rate per template | Check statistics per broadcast |
For details about Message Broadcast itself, see the Message Broadcast article.
Where Auto Send Messages Can Be Called
You can call and send the Auto Send Messages you create from the following features. On the list screen, you can filter by the calling source.
| Calling source | How to use |
|---|---|
| Workflow | In the Workflow's "Auto Send Messages" action, select the message you want to send |
| Response message | Set it as the message to send in response to a specific message |
| QR Code | Set it as the message to send to people who scan the QR Code |
What Makes Up an Auto Send Message
An Auto Send Message is made up of a name, the message body, a status, and a Folder.
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A name for management. Used to identify messages in the list |
| Message | The actual content you send. You can also set it up to send multiple messages in sequence |
| Status | Either "Active" or "Paused". A paused message is not sent even when it is called |
| Folder | You can organize messages by sorting them into Folders |
Message Types You Can Use
In addition to text and images, you can set messages that support LINE's rich expressions in your Auto Send Messages.
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Text | A text-only message. You can also use emoji |
| Image | Sends an image you have uploaded |
| Video | Sends a video you have uploaded |
| Sticker | Sends a LINE sticker |
| Rich Message | A message with tappable areas placed on an image |
| Rich Video Message | A message with action buttons placed on a video |
| Card Type Message | A message that displays multiple pieces of information side by side in a card format |
| Flex Message | A message whose layout you can build freely |
For how to create each message type, see the article on message types.
Checking Delivery Results
After sending, you can check the delivery count, open rate, and click rate for each template. This gives you a clue to understanding which messages are read and clicked the most.
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Delivery count | The number of people this message reached |
| Open rate | The percentage of people who opened the message, out of those it reached |
| Click rate | The percentage of people who clicked a link in the message, out of those it reached |
To improve these numbers, you can ask the Marketing Agent for analysis and your next move.
Common Usage Patterns
Auto Send Messages are useful whenever you want to deliver the same content at a set timing, from a greeting when someone adds you as a friend to guidance from an in-store QR Code.

|---|---|
| Welcome message | Send a greeting message from the friend-add Workflow |
| QR Code guidance | Send a coupon or guidance to people who scan an in-store QR Code |
| Follow-up | Send a follow-up message after a specific action in a Workflow |
| Step-by-step guidance | Place multiple pieces of content in one message and deliver the information in sequence |
