When you use your Klaviyo integration data as Segment conditions, you can reach the same audience on LINE that you target by email, and switch the Rich Menu shown to each customer. Just tell Marketing Agent your Goal, and it will propose who to reach and how. We also walk you through the steps for building the conditions yourself.
Let the agent handle the targeting
If you say "I want to send a limited-time offer on LINE to my high-value Klaviyo customers," Marketing Agent handles everything from narrowing down the audience to preparing the Message Broadcast.
Set the Chat mode to Auto or Create, then tell the agent who you want to reach and your purpose. Based on your Klaviyo integration data, the agent proposes Segment conditions and builds out the Message Broadcast or the Rich Menu targeting for you. Once you have reviewed the content, choose "Approve" to proceed, or "Cancel" to hold off. When you want to set the conditions in detail yourself, you can use the manual steps described below.
Use Klaviyo data as Segment conditions
When you specify Klaviyo lists or properties as Segment conditions in Lumo, you can target consistently across both Klaviyo and LINE.
Klaviyo Campaigns (mass sends) have no way to send LINE messages, so campaign-style mass LINE broadcasts are done this way — by specifying a Segment built from Klaviyo conditions for a Lumo Message Broadcast.
A Segment is a filter that automatically groups the friends that match its conditions. It is a different concept from the tag you add to friends, so please take care not to confuse them. The main conditions you can use from your Klaviyo integration data are as follows.
| Condition | What it does |
|---|---|
| Klaviyo ID link | Extracts friends who are linked or not linked to a Klaviyo profile |
| Klaviyo list | Extracts friends who are included in, or excluded from, a specific Klaviyo list |
| Klaviyo property | Extracts friends based on the value or presence of a Klaviyo property |
Klaviyo conditions are evaluated against friends who are ID-linked to a Klaviyo profile. Friends who are not linked are not extracted.
Create a Segment from Klaviyo data
If you want to build the conditions yourself, add Klaviyo conditions on the Segment creation screen.
- On the Segment creation screen, open "Create Segment"
- Under the property "Condition," choose one of "Klaviyo ID link," "Klaviyo list," or "Klaviyo property"
- For "Klaviyo list," select the target list and toggle between included and excluded
- Combine multiple conditions with "Add property (AND)" or "Add another condition (OR)," then save with "Save Segment"
If a list does not appear in the options, create the list in Klaviyo, then run "Resync data" on the Klaviyo integration Dashboard.
Send a Message Broadcast using a Segment
You can specify the Segment you created as the recipient target for a LINE Message Broadcast.
On the Message Broadcast creation screen, set the Segment built from Klaviyo conditions as the "Recipients" under "Audience." If you specify another Segment under "Do not send," you can exclude specific friends from the broadcast. This lets you run campaigns such as following up on LINE with the high-value customers you manage in Klaviyo or the audience that responded to your emails.
You can also build a product card into the message. Choose a best-sellers product feed to automatically feature your top-selling products in card format, so you can put together a campaign like "send a mass LINE broadcast of best-selling products to a Klaviyo Segment" in no time. Before sending, we recommend running a test send to check how the message displays on a real device.
Switch Rich Menus per friend
Based on your Klaviyo data, you can switch the Rich Menu shown to each friend.
On the Rich Menu editing screen, enable "Display targeting" under "Display target," then specify the Segment built from Klaviyo conditions as the "Target Segment." You can also exclude specific friends with the "Excluded Segment." For example, you can show a limited menu to a VIP customer Segment and the standard menu to everyone else, tailoring the experience for each group.
Note that a Segment containing 100,000 or more friends cannot be used for Rich Menu targeting.
Common usage patterns
Here are some representative examples of targeting with Klaviyo data.
| Scenario | Example |
|---|---|
| Cross-channel broadcast | Deliver the same offer on LINE to the same Klaviyo list as your email campaign |
| Product promotion | Send a best-sellers product card as a mass broadcast to a Klaviyo Segment |
| Exclusive campaigns for high-value customers | Send a LINE-exclusive coupon as a Message Broadcast to your Klaviyo VIP list |
| Optimizing the experience | Switch the Rich Menu based on a Klaviyo property for purchase status |
| Preventing missed customers | Send a follow-up message on LINE to a Segment that has not opened your emails |
When things do not work
Here are common issues with using Segments and how to resolve them.
- A Klaviyo list does not appear in the options: Create the list in Klaviyo, then run "Resync data" on the Klaviyo integration Dashboard. Once the sync is reflected, the list becomes selectable
- A Segment has fewer people than expected: Klaviyo conditions are evaluated against ID-linked friends. Friends who are not linked are not extracted, so set up ID linking as needed
- You cannot specify a Segment for a Rich Menu: A Segment containing 100,000 or more friends cannot be used for Rich Menu targeting. Narrow down the conditions
