This article introduces what you can do with the Klaviyo integration, organized around marketing use cases.
What Is the Klaviyo Integration?
The Klaviyo integration is a feature that brings Klaviyo's email and SMS marketing together with Lumo's LINE marketing in one place.
Email and LINE are often managed as separate channels, but once you integrate them, you can treat each customer as the "same person" across both Klaviyo and Lumo. As a result, you can send LINE messages to Segments managed in Klaviyo, or push LINE reactions back into Klaviyo for analysis, achieving consistent communication across channels.
You can also set up the integration itself while consulting with the Marketing Agent. Just tell it, "Please help me set up the Klaviyo integration," and the agent will help you figure out which feature is the best place to start.
Linking Klaviyo Profiles and LINE Friends by ID
The foundation of the Klaviyo integration is ID linkage, which ties a Klaviyo profile and a LINE friend together as the "same person."
The two are matched using an email address, phone number, or LINE User ID. Several linking methods are available to fit your customers' journey.
| Linking method | Overview |
|---|---|
| Form ID Linkage | Connects a LINE friend and a Klaviyo profile, triggered by a Klaviyo form submission |
| Custom QR Code | Inserts a per-customer linking QR Code or URL into a Klaviyo email and links when the customer adds you as a friend |
| Importing existing LINE User IDs | Reads LINE User IDs from profiles in a Klaviyo Segment and links them with Lumo friends |
| Auto-linking by email or phone number | Automatically ties matching profiles together as part of data sync |
Once ID linkage is complete, the data sync, broadcast, and analysis features that build on it become available. Both Flow sends and event recording apply to ID-linked customers.
Two Routes for Sending LINE Messages
LINE sends from Lumo use two routes depending on your goal: Lumo's Message Broadcast and automated sends from a Klaviyo Flow.
| What you want to do | Route to use |
|---|---|
| Campaign-style mass broadcasts (announcing best-selling products, sale announcements, and so on) | Lumo's Message Broadcast. Specify a Segment built from Klaviyo conditions as the recipients |
| Scenario-driven automated sends (abandoned cart follow-ups, post-purchase cross-sells, and so on) | Call a Lumo Auto Send Message from a Webhook action in a Klaviyo Flow |
Klaviyo Campaigns (mass sends) have no Webhook action, so mass broadcasts go out from Lumo's Message Broadcast. With either route, you can use your Klaviyo lists and Segments as they are, and delivery results are recorded on Klaviyo profiles, so your data use never breaks.
Sending LINE Messages from a Klaviyo Flow
You can automatically send LINE messages, triggered by a Webhook action in a Klaviyo Flow.
Because a Flow can call Auto Send Messages created in Lumo, you can build not only text but also highly expressive LINE messages — images, Rich Messages, product cards, and more — into your Flow scenarios. For example, you can build scenarios that weave email and LINE together, such as following up on LINE when Klaviyo detects an abandoned cart, or sending a coupon on LINE the day after a welcome email.
If you are unsure what kind of Auto Send Messages to prepare, you can tell the Marketing Agent your goal and leave the creation to it. The agent proposes the content, and you can review it before sending with "Approve" or "Cancel."
Showcasing Products with Product Cards
With product cards, you can introduce products in card-format messages that include a product image, product name, and button.
You can build them into Message Broadcasts and into the Auto Send Messages called from a Klaviyo Flow. Choose how products are selected (the data source) to match your purpose.
| Data source | Products shown |
|---|---|
| Product feed | Best sellers, newest, on sale, and more — automatically selects and features products matching the feed's conditions, drawn from your store's product data |
| Trigger products | "Abandoned cart follow-up", browse reminders, low-stock alerts, and more — features the products that triggered the Flow |
The product data used by product feeds syncs directly from your Shopify store. To use them, install the Lumo app on both Klaviyo and Shopify.
Syncing LINE Broadcast Results Back to Klaviyo
You can record reactions to LINE messages, as well as actions like adding or blocking your account as a friend, on Klaviyo profiles.
On the Klaviyo side, you can treat these LINE actions just like email opens and clicks. You can segment people who reacted on LINE, analyze email and LINE side by side in reports, or use a LINE reaction as the trigger for a Flow that sends the next email. You can grasp your customers' cross-channel behavior all within Klaviyo.
In addition, because you can update the consent status on Klaviyo profiles based on each customer's LINE friend status, it becomes easier to operate with consent aligned across email and LINE.
Tailoring LINE Campaigns with Klaviyo Segments
You can use Klaviyo properties as Lumo Segments to target your LINE campaigns.
You can send a LINE Message Broadcast to the same customer profile as an email campaign, or tailor Rich Menu content based on customer attributes. You can apply your Klaviyo customer insights directly to your LINE engagement, such as showing an exclusive menu to VIP customers or following up on LINE with customers who did not open an email.
The Segments used here are a different concept from the tags you attach to friends. A Segment narrows down the friends who will receive a broadcast, using Klaviyo-derived properties as conditions.
Reviewing and Adjusting the Data That Is Synced
You can review the items synced between Klaviyo and Lumo on screen and toggle them on or off.
In addition to basic properties such as first name, last name, email address, and phone number, you can sync items like LINE display name, LINE follow status, and consent status. The direction of the sync (whether you import from Klaviyo or export from Lumo) is also organized per item, so you can choose to sync only the items your operations require. Required items are always synced, while other items can optionally be toggled on or off.
Common Use Cases
The Klaviyo integration delivers results by combining email and LINE. Here are some representative use cases.
| Scenario | Example |
|---|---|
| Boosting open rates | Follow up on LINE with the same content for customers who did not open an email |
| Product promotion | Send a best-sellers product card on LINE as a mass broadcast to a Klaviyo Segment |
| Abandoned cart recovery | Detect an abandoned cart in Klaviyo and send reminders on both email and LINE |
| Behavior-based follow-up | Starting from customers who reacted on LINE, automate the next step with a Klaviyo Flow |
| Segment broadcast | Deliver an exclusive offer on LINE to a high-value customer Segment built in Klaviyo |
| Tailored engagement | Switch the LINE Rich Menu based on each customer's purchase status |
How to Get Started with the Integration
To start the Klaviyo integration, you need administrator privileges on your Klaviyo account and a LINE Official Account already connected to Lumo.
During setup, you select the LINE Official Account to integrate and authorize on the Klaviyo side. After that, you proceed step by step with ID linkage, sending messages from a Flow, and configuring the synced data, in line with your operations. The specific steps are explained in a separate article. If you are unsure how to proceed with the setup, consult the Marketing Agent with, "Please help me set up the Klaviyo integration."
