Bringing your LINE Official Account's existing friends into Lumo makes them eligible for Message Broadcasts, Segments, and analysis by the agent. It is a different feature from Data Import, which brings friend data in from a CSV.
What you can do with friend import
Friend import is a feature that brings the existing friends of your LINE Official Account into Lumo. It is a different feature from Data Import, which brings friend data in from a CSV. Friend import brings in the friends who are already on the LINE side, and it doesn't use a CSV file.
By importing people who added your account as a friend before you connected it to Lumo, those friends also become eligible for Message Broadcasts, Segments, and analysis by the agent. Friends added after the connection are synced automatically, so import is mainly an operation for bringing in friends who were added before the connection.
This feature is available only for verified or premium LINE Official Accounts. For other account types, the import menu is not displayed.
Running an import
You start an import from the "Settings" screen of your LINE Official Account.
The steps are as follows.
- From "Accounts" in the side menu, open the LINE Official Account you want to work with
- Open the "Settings" screen and scroll to the "Friend Import" section
- Click the "Import" button
- In the confirmation dialog "Import LINE friends?", click "Start import"
You can run an import as many times as you like, and your existing friend data is never overwritten.
Checking the progress
An import runs in the background and may take some time to complete.
You can keep using the screen while it is in progress. In the "Friend Import" section, you can check the current status and the last run date and time. The status is displayed as follows.
| Display | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Not run yet" | No import has been run yet |
| "Processing" | Friends are being imported |
| "Completed" | The import has finished |
| "Error" | The import failed |
The "Import status" panel at the bottom of the card shows progress bars for friends and profiles while a run is going, and the number imported, the processing time and the last run time once it's done. If some friends or profiles couldn't be brought in, it shows how many and what to do. Open "Details" to see the succeeded and failed counts, retries and the run ID.
The more friends you have, the longer the import takes to complete. Once it is done, you can review the imported friends in the "Friends" list.
Canceling an import
You can cancel an import that is in progress before it completes.
Click "Cancel import" in the "Friend Import" section, then in the confirmation dialog "Cancel this import?", click "Stop import". Even if you cancel, the friend data imported up to that point is kept. If you run the import again later, it picks up where it left off.
