A Rich Menu is a persistent menu at the bottom of the chat screen — create one in Lumo and apply it directly to your LINE Official Account.
Let the Agent Handle It
You can let the Marketing Agent take care of everything from planning a Rich Menu to drafting it.
When you share a goal like "Create a Rich Menu for my friends," the agent proposes the layout and navigation and prepares a draft. You review what it proposes, then choose "Approve" to apply it or "Cancel" to pass on it. If you prefer to configure the details yourself, you can create one manually by following the steps below.
Requirements
To create a Rich Menu, the target LINE Official Account must already be connected.
- You are logged in to Lumo
- The target LINE Official Account is connected
Note that the Rich Menu feature is not available on the Free plan.
Open the Creation Screen
You start creating a Rich Menu from the Rich Menu list of the target account.
- Select the target LINE Official Account from the navigation menu
- Open "Rich Menu"
- Click the "Create Rich Menu" button
Set the Basic Information
Enter the basic information needed for display, such as the Rich Menu name and image.
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A management name used to identify the Rich Menu. It is not shown on the chat screen |
| Rich Menu image | Upload the image that appears as the menu background. JPEG or PNG format is supported, up to 1MB |
| Menu bar text | The label shown when the menu is collapsed (for example, "Menu") |
| Display settings | When you turn on "Open the menu by default," the menu appears expanded when the chat screen is opened |
Prepare your image to match the size of the layout you select. The supported sizes are 2500px wide by 1686px tall, or 2500px wide by 843px tall.
Select a Layout
A layout is a template that determines the number and arrangement of buttons.
You choose from two sizes, large and small.
| Size | Recommended use |
|---|---|
| Large (2500×1686px) | When you want to display a lot of menu content |
| Small (2500×843px) | When you want a well-balanced display on the chat screen |
Each size offers several templates, and selecting one lets you check the area arrangement in the preview. When you change the layout, the actions for any areas that do not fit the new layout are deleted, so review this before making the change.
Set the Actions for Areas (Buttons)
For each area, you set the action that happens when it is tapped.
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Text | The text you set is sent to the chat |
| Link | Opens the specified URL in a browser. This is suited to directing people to a website or online store |
| Switch menu | Switches to another Rich Menu you specify. This lets you build a multi-level menu structure |
| Postback | Used as a trigger for processing in response to a tap |
You can optionally set a Workflow for each area, so a tap can trigger automated processing. For details on how to build actions, see the Workflow article.
Set the Display Targets (Targeting)
If you want to display the menu only to specific friends or during a specific period, set the display target conditions.
| Condition | Description |
|---|---|
| Segment | Displays the menu only to friends who belong to a specific Segment. You can specify target Segments and excluded Segments |
| Period | Set a start date and end date to display the menu only during a specific period. This is useful for menus limited to a campaign period |
| Day of week | Displays the menu only on the days of the week you specify |
| Priority | A lower number means higher priority. When the conditions of multiple Rich Menus overlap, the menu with the higher priority is displayed |
The Segments referred to here are conditions for narrowing down the friends who are the broadcast target. They are a separate concept from the tags you assign to friends. Note that a Segment containing 100,000 or more contacts cannot be specified as a display target.
Save and Apply
The two buttons at the bottom of the editing screen let you switch between saving a draft and applying the menu to LINE.
| Button | Description |
|---|---|
| "Save Draft" | Saves the Rich Menu as a draft. It is not reflected on LINE |
| "Activate rich menu" | Saves the Rich Menu and starts applying it to LINE. Once the application is complete, the status changes to "In Use," and the menu is displayed to friends who match the conditions |
Application may take some time. When you stop the application, the status changes to "Stopped."
Apply All Rich Menus at Once
When you want to apply multiple Rich Menus together according to their priority, use bulk application.
From the "More Actions" menu on the list screen, click "Update Rich Menu" to update the Rich Menus of all friends based on the current priority settings. When you select "Apply" in the confirmation dialog, the process begins. This process may take some time.
