Common questions about reading Reports numbers and narrowing down problems are answered below.
What kind of feature is Reports?
Reports is a feature that visualizes your broadcast and Friends data as graphs and tables by combining analysis axes with metrics.
You can access it from Analytics > Reports in the side menu. From Create Report, choose the period, analysis axis, metric, and graph type you want to display, and summarize the data from whatever angle you want to understand.
When you are not sure what to look at or how, ask the Marketing Agent things like "Analyze the performance of my recent broadcasts" or "Tell me the trend in how my friends are increasing or decreasing," and the agent will interpret the current situation and highlight the key points. We recommend using Reports as a supplement for when you want to dig deeper into that analysis with your own eyes.
Main components of a report
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| Period to display | Choose from options such as the last 7 days, last 30 days, last 90 days, or last 1 year |
| Analysis axis | The basis for splitting the data, such as by day, by week, by month, or by Segment |
| Metric | The value you want to measure, such as open rate, click rate, number of broadcasts, or number of friends |
| Graph type | Choose from bar graph, line graph, pie chart, table, and more |
Open rates and click rates are not showing
Open rates and click rates are only tallied for broadcasts where URL clicks can be measured.
Links in a message can record click and open activity because they are converted into measurement URLs. If you enable Do not convert URLs for tracking when creating a broadcast, this conversion does not happen, and that broadcast's click rate and similar figures are excluded from measurement.
For broadcasts where you want to check open rates and click rates, leave URL conversion enabled. For broadcasts already sent without measurement, you cannot retrieve the numbers afterward.
When in doubt, leave the broadcast preparation to the Marketing Agent, and it will set things up including the settings needed for measurement.
The numbers in Reports differ from the broadcast results
Because Reports and broadcast results are tallied at different times, the numbers can temporarily appear out of sync.
Click and open data are reflected gradually after a customer takes action. Right after a broadcast, this reflection is still in progress, so the numbers on the broadcast results screen and in Reports may not match. The numbers fall into line as time passes.
If you want to check the final tally, review the figures after allowing enough time to pass since the broadcast.
What metrics and analysis axes can I choose?
In Reports, you can combine multiple metrics and analysis axes to match your purpose.
| Type | Examples of available items |
|---|---|
| Metric | Number of friends, number of follows, number of broadcasts, opens / open rate, clicks / click rate, blocks / block rate |
| Analysis axis | By day, by week, by month, Segment |
If you have a Shopify integration, you can also choose Shopify-derived analysis axes such as purchase status, number of purchases, and purchase amount range. The items you can select vary depending on your integration status.
Can I view the numbers by Segment?
When you choose Segment as the analysis axis, you can compare the numbers for each set of conditions used to filter friends.
For example, lining up broadcast performance by Segment lets you see which groups respond best. A Segment is a group of friends narrowed down by conditions, and it is a separate concept from the tags you assign to friends. For how to create a Segment itself, please also see the Segments article.
I want to edit or delete a report I created
You can open a report you already created from the list to edit it, and delete the ones you no longer need.
| What you want to do | Action |
|---|---|
| Change the contents | Open the report, change the settings, and click Save Report |
| Delete it | Select the report you want to delete, and click Delete in the confirmation dialog |
A deleted report cannot be restored. If you simply want to redo the settings, we recommend adjusting through editing rather than deleting.
